Roy Miller is an investigator that put together their program and I think you'll find it does almost everything you seek, in-house and remote. As to the word processing, you'll need to get more specifics from their customer service, which is superior. They even have a blog for discussions and questions on the nuances for their product. They are more than receptive to suggestions as to improvements.
I know the software integrates well with our report writing process and the reports, attachments, photos, timeline, etc. are all within each "case" file. As important, maybe more important is that the program does your billing and tracks time for staff, expenses, etc.
We highly recommend their product and suggest contacting them for a test drive! We have found we maintain much tighter control on the case work and billing, which you still have to remember to send out. Roy hasn't figured that part out as yet!
